Dr Carla Shorrock

Dr Carla Shorrock is an HCPC-registered Counselling Psychologist working within NHS adult mental health services. She supports adults experiencing trauma, addiction, anxiety, depression and complex relational difficulties. 

Carla began her career in health, fitness and management before retraining in counselling and psychology over 20 years ago. She holds a Diploma in Counselling, a Degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy, a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychology and a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology. She has trained and practised internationally in Australia and France, including work in specialist addiction services and adolescent mental health. 

Known for her warm, grounded and empathetic approach, Carla places the therapeutic relationship at the centre of her work. She will work collaboratively with you to develop a clear and accessible understanding of your difficulties. Practising integratively, she draws on CBT, ACT, DBT and person-centred approaches, combining psychological insight with practical tools to support meaningful, sustainable change. Her breadth of training enables her to work flexibly, tailoring therapy to you rather than relying on a single model.
